Alexis Gonzalez is a law clerk at Rock Trade Law LLC, where she supports attorneys in matters involving U.S. Customs and international trade.
Alexis earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, where she was a member of DePaul Law Review and served as President of the Chicago Animal Law Student Initiative (CALSI). During law school, she received multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, including in U.S. Customs and International Trade and Pretrial Civil Litigation, and was named on the Dean’s List.
Her legal experience includes internships with a Class I railroad and a judicial externship at the Circuit Court of Cook County. Prior to law school, Alexis worked as a paralegal across diverse practice areas, including FDA compliance, civil litigation, and real estate.
Alexis holds a B.A. in Global Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she minored in Slavic Studies and earned a Global Business Certificate. She was also a Foreign Language Area Studies (FLAS) Fellow, requiring international travel experience and maintenance of a competitive GPA. Additionally, she completed a Paralegal Certificate at Oakton College, where she was recognized as a President’s Scholar each semester.
A native Polish speaker, Alexis is fluent in both written and spoken Polish and has used her language skills to assist Polish-speaking clients and facilitate clear communication in complex legal matters. Her cultural fluency and ability to build trust with clients from diverse backgrounds enhances her effectiveness in navigating international trade issues and delivering client-centered legal support.
